HOUSE RULES
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All guests (and any visitors) must comply with all house rules and any other instructions from the property manager during their stay; and guests must notify the property manager of any disputes or complaints from neighbours as soon as reasonably practicable.
2. NOISE AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
We hope you have lots of laughter and fun times during your vacation! However, we’d really appreciate it if you’re mindful and keep noise to a minimum – especially during nighttime hours (10pm – 8am), and upon arrival and departure.
Excessive noise is prohibited at all times and may result in termination of the vacation rental agreement, eviction, loss of rental paid and extra charges which may be deducted from the security deposit.
3. CHILDREN
● Ocean View apartment and La Bretonne are not suitable for children under the age of 12.
● Sister’s Quarters and Fisherman’s Cove can accommodate children, but please note that both have stairs, and the stairs are very steep at Fisherman’s Cove.
● Please let us know in advance if you need a baby cot and/or a high chair. Both are subject to availability. (Please note that while a baby cot just fits in the bedroom of Sister's Quarters, it will make the space cramped.)
● Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other guests and residents in the neighbourhood.
● Parents must not leave children unattended at any time.
4. SMOKING
● Jabula by the Sea is a purely non-smoking house (vaping and e-cigarettes included).
● If you need to smoke, we kindly ask you to do so further away from the house, respecting the comfort for all guests also in the outside area.
● Cigarette butts must be disposed of properly and not thrown on property grounds.
5. DOGS
● Pets are not permitted in the Ocean View or in La Bretonne.
● Sister’s Quarters and Fisherman’s Cove can accommodate one small well-behaved dog each by prior arrangement only.

● The dog is not allowed on the bed, on furniture, or in the shower.
● The dog must not be left alone or unsupervised at the property at any time.

6. PARKING
● There is a private parking lot at the back of the house.
● On arrival and departure you are exceptionally allowed to park at the front for a limited time, for unloading and loading only, taking care not to obstruct or disturb other guests.
● Unfortunately we are not able to provide electric car charging at this time, but we are more than happy to guide you to the nearest charging point in the village.

● Be careful not to wash oil or food remains down the drain. There is a jar for collecting oil under the sink.
● The yellow bag in the large bin is designated for all recyclables made out of plastic metal or styrofoam (bottles, cans, containers, trays, yoghurt pots etc). as well as cardboard and paper items (newspapers, magazines, brochures). There is no need to rinse the containers, simply empty them before placing in the bag.
● There are communal rubbish bins just outside of Jabula by the Sea on the road. Put the yellow bin bag in the bin that has a yellow lid. Put any other garbage bags in the bin with a brown lid.
● Please take any empty glass bottles and jars into a glass recycling bin further up the road.
● Rubbish must not be left in public or common areas.

● Any time you leave the vacation rental, please ensure all windows and doors are closed/locked to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage.
● Please switch off lights, fans and electronics when not in use to promote energy saving.
● It can get very windy very quickly at times. Please ensure you close the patio umbrella and store it securely to avoid breakage, whenever you are not using it. This is especially important in case of any bad weather (rain, storms, etc.). Please also take the deck chairs or any loose items back inside.
● In case of a power outage, please call the property manager before touching the control panel.
● We are not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings or valuables. If you misplace something in the house, please let us know so we can look for the item during the changeover and cleaning.
● Please make sure you have valid insurance as any guest injuries sustained inside the house are not covered by our vacation rental insurance.
9. BARBECUE
Is there anything better than firing up the barbecue on a sunny afternoon? We don’t think so, although we call it braai as they do in South Africa! We provide all the necessary equipment to cook up a storm, but please follow the instructions below.
● Please use the designated barbecue utensils.
● Be sure to clean the barbecue after use, it’s much more difficult to clean the next day!
● You can buy a bag of coal in Carrefour or Weldom (hardware store) in Plouhinec village.
