Plouhinec is home to three remarkable prehistoric treasures. One of the world's oldest evidence of humans using fire was discovered in the Menez Dregan cave, dating back to 465 000 years. That's when early humans hunted mammoths across the plains, which are now under the ocean.
Next to the cave is the Neolithic burial site of Le Souc'h with its imposing dolmens.
Not far there's another Neolithic site, the Pors Poulhan gallery grave. The site is renowned in Finistère for its impressive structure, featuring enormous stone slabs, making it the most perfect example in the region.
